ITU Plenipotentiary Conference The communications technology event comes to Dubai for the first time The ITU is the International Telecommunications Union, a United Nations agency that specialises in issues concerning information and communications technology. The Plenipotentiary Conference is the organisation’s key decision-making event, and determines the ITU’s activities over the coming months. It’s held in a different city each year, and in 2018, it will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre for the first time. Yummex Middle East 2018 The region’s leading sweets and snacks event Yummex Middle East returns for its 12th edition this October, as part of Dubai International hospitality Week. It’s the region’s largest event for the sweets and snacks industry, and is the place to be for all industry professionals, from buyers and decision makers to businesses launching their latest products. More than 8000 visitors attended the 2017 event, and there were over 300 exhibitors, from 43 countries, showcasing their products. Annual Radiology Meeting The Middle East’s leading radiology event The Annual Radiology Meeting is set to return for its third edition from 31 October to 2 November. This new show at Children’s City, the educational theme park in the heart of Creek Park, aims to both entertain and educate the youth of the UAE. Adapt to Survive: Notes from the Future at Concrete Following its showing at London’s Hayward Gallery, and a gallery to gallery international collaboration, Concrete at Alserkal Avenue will bring the seven artist-strong group exhibition ‘Adapt to Survive: Notes from the Future’ to Dubai from 7-21 November. This septet of international artists have imagined how our world might look and feel in the future, engaging with the idea that adaptation is necessary for survival to present films, sculpture and text-based works that explore ideas of change and hybrid forms of architecture, biology, technology, and language. The line-up of artists includes Ann Lislegaard, Julian Charriere, Rainer Ganahl,  Marguerite Humeau, Bedwyr Williams, Andreas Angelidakis and Youmna Chlala.
