Cultural Crossroads Tahar Ben Jolloun ‘Cultural Crossroads’, which is on display at La Galerie Nationale, is a collection of works on canvas by the Moroccan writer Tahar Ben Jelloun. The poet, novelist and artist is best known for his novel The Sacred Night, which won the Prix Goncourt in 1987. He first started painting in 2013, and since then he’s had his work exhibited in galleries in Rome, Paris, and Algiers. The show came about because of the friendship between Ben Jelloun and Guillaume Cuiry, the gallery’s director and curator. It will debut during this year’s Dubai Art Week, and also marks the gallery’s partnership with the Institut de Monde Arabe, as 2018 is the official year of UAE-Franco Relations.
